BBC: Founded in 1922. It is one of the worlds oldest national broadcasting organisation which is funded by the residents in the UK. It is a public service broadcaster (PSB) and is paid for by license fees. to inform, educate and entertain. BBC has other channels such as BBC2, BBC3, BBC4. also expanded onto the internet with BBC iPlayer.
Twitter: Founded in 2006. It allows you to tweet, retweet, forward another tweet and reply to a tweet. Twitter is a user generated content (UGC) this means it is controlled by the public. It provides audience feedback and allows them to interact with news reporters.
News Corporation: Founded by Rupert Murdoch. It is one of the highest earning companies. It splits into two, one being the news corp and the 21st century fox, which handles the TV and film side.
Disney: Founded by Walt Disney. Most famous for the creation of Mickey mouse. It also did some collaborations with pixar, who specialise in Computer generated imagery (CGI).
ITV: First launched in 1955. Biggest commercially funded programme. They are controlled and regulated by OFCOM.
Sony: It was founded in 1946. Sony is a is a multinational conglomerate, in Japan. Famous for Sony Pictures, Music, Computer Entertainment and Sony Mobile Communications. Sony own Columbia Pictures, which is their biggest achievement so far.
Vivendi: French digital entertainment company. It owns Canal+ Group, which is a TV channel and movie producer in France. In the 1990s, they then changed the name to Vivendi and launched digital channels in other countries as they expanded their company.
Viacom: is a company based in America, who focuses on cinema and cable TV. It is the 6th largest broadcasting and cable company.Viacom also owns DreamWorks.
